              Re: De—orbiting ofDIRECTV 6

      Dear Ms. Dortch:

DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC ("DIRECTV") hereby gives notice that it has
successfully de—orbited its DIRECTV 6 space station (call sign $2656). The deorbiting
was completed on August 17, 2006. The final measured orbit of the DIRECTV 6 satellite
is 397 km above the geostationary arc, with an apogee and perigee of 411 km and 383 km
above the arc, respectively. In the course of de—orbiting the satellite, DIRECTV depleted
the propellant tanks, discharged the batteries, disconnected the power from the bus, and
      shut off the transmitters.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 202—730—1 350.

                                                   Sincerely yours,
