Washington, D.C. 2004—1109 Reference: Request for modification of milestones for the GE—1 satellite (File No Dear Ms. Hastings: GE American Communications, Inc. (GE Americom) has filed an application for an extension of time in which to launch its GE—1 domestic fixed—satellite. Subsequently, GE Americom applied for authority to test GE—1 at 101° W.L. prior to moving to its regularly authorized location of 103° W.L. We granted GE Americom authority to test GE—1 at 101° W.L. See Letter from Chief, Satellite Radiocommunication Division to Counsel (September 18, 1996). Since then, GE—1 was launched, tested, and placed into operation at its authorized location. Therefore, since the GE—1 satellite has been launched and is operating successfully, Application File No. 135—SAT—ML—96 is dismissed as moot. Sincerely, Fmgw %& Thomas S.
