   Dear Ms. Dortch:

EchoStar Satellite Operating Corporation (“ESOC”) writes to notify the Commission that
it has come to our attention that DIRECTV 1R has been moved from 72.5º W.L. to 109.8º W.L.
As ESOC currently operates three satellites at the 61.5º W.L. nominal orbital location and has a
pending application to launch a satellite to that nominal orbital location, this move is relevant to
the interference environment described in the above-referenced applications. With the move of
DIRECTV 1R, the closest non-ESOC-owned satellite is now Nimiq 5, which is located at 72.7º
W.L. Nimiq 5 is both further than DIRECTV 1R was from 61.5º W.L. and is fully leased for use
by an ESOC affiliate. The DIRECTV 1R move, therefore, only improves the interference
environment at the 61.5º W.L. nominal orbital location as described in the above-referenced
   applications.

If you have any questions regarding the information described in this letter, please
   contact me.

                                                 Respectfully submitted,

                                                 _________/s/___________
                                                 Stephanie A. Roy
