Re: Retirement of AMC-9 (Call Sign S2434), File Nos. SAT-STA-20170929-00138 et al.

Dear Ms. Dortch:

SES Americom, Inc. (“SES”), by its attorney, hereby advises the Commission that it has placed
its AMC-9 spacecraft, call sign S2434, into a disposal orbit and asks that the Commission close
the IBFS license account for this spacecraft.

Deorbit maneuvers commenced on October 6, 2017, and final commands were sent on
December 9, 2017. The disposal orbit has a perigee altitude of approximately 277 km above
the geostationary arc and an apogee altitude of approximately 430 km above the geostationary
arc. The eccentricity is approximately 0.001816516.

In light of the satellite’s retirement, SES requests that the Commission terminate the license
account for call sign S2434 in the IBFS database.

Please address any questions regarding this matter to the undersigned.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Karis A. Hastings
