On March 16,2004, Hughes Electronics Corporation changed its name to The DIRECTV Group, Inc. See Letter from William M. Wiltshire and Michael D. The Commission has found that News Corp. has a defacto controlling interest over DIRECTV Group and its subsidiaries, including DIRECTV Enterprises, for purposes of the Communications Act of 1934.
