(°SES AMERICOM"), by its attorneys, hereby withdraws the above—referenced applications for authority to launch and operate a satellite system consisting of two extended Ku—band communications satellites at 85° W .L. and 87° W.L. and a ground spare, filed November 3, 1997, File Nos. SAT— LOA—19951103—00176/77 & SAT—A/O—19951103—00175 (the "Extended Ku—band Applications"). Given the time that has elapsed since the filing of the applications and intervening changes in cirecumstances relating to the applications, SES AMERICOM no longer intends to pursue the applications. Accordingly, SES AMERICOM requests that the Commission dismiss the Extended Ku—band Applications.
