Re: ERRATUM to Hughes Galaxy/Spaceway Application; FCC File Nos.
                                          174—181—SAT—P/LA—95; 34—SAT—AMEND—96
            Dear Mr. Caton:

On behalf of Hughes Communications Galaxy, Inc., I am writing to correct
certain information contained in the Galaxy/Spaceway application referenced above.

Hughes has requested authority to construct, launch and operate a global satellite
system consisting of 21 spacecraft at 16 orbital locations. As noted in Hughes‘s application for
Commission consent to transfer control of PanAmSat to the current owners of Hughes, it is
anticipated that, after the closing of that transaction, this system will be operated in two different
business units: one unit will operate Ka band FSS spacecraft at 49 W.L., 99 W.L., 101 W.L., 25
            E.L., 54 E.L., 101 E.L., 111 E.L., and 164 E.L; and the other business unit will operate the rest of
the Ka band FSS and all of the Ku band BSS spacecraft sought in the application. See FCC File
No. 2—SAT—AL—97(11), et seq., Narrative to Application at 8 n.9. This division among two
Hughes—owned business units necessitates the use of 25 spacecraft instead of 21 as originally
proposed. Those additional 4 spacecraft will be deployed as BSS—only spacecraft at four
            locations: 54 E.L., 101 E.L., 164 E.L., and 49 W.L.

It is currently anticipated that the spacecraft will be deployed in the following
manner at the following orbital locations, subject to any changes necessitated by market factors:
