("FACS"), accompanied by Patricia Paoletta, Wiley Rein & Fielding, LLP, counsel to NYS, Jan Friis, Mary Kay Williams, Ralph Crenshaw of FACS and Randy Sifers, counsel to FACS, met with Deputy International Bureau Chief Rod Porter, Associate Chief and Chief of Staff Jackie Ruff, Tom Tycez, Satellite Division Chief, Cassandra Thomas, Deputy Satellite Division Chief, counsel from the Office of General Counsel, Sheryl Wilkerson, legal advisor to Chairman Powell, and additional Bureau officials. The purpose of the meeting was to review new developments, as they relate to the public interest in granting FACS‘ extension request filed June 6, 2003. At the meeting, in response to questions from Commission officials, counsel for NYS and FACS noted that documents generated during the course of the Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings against FACS‘ former parent, FAI, demonstrated that FACS had argued before the bankruptcy court that expedition was critical to preserve FAI‘s primary asset —— FACS and its FCC license.
