For Authority to Construct, Launch and Operate a Subregional Africa and Middle Eastern Satellite Sound Broadcasting Transmission System, File No. CSS—90—017 Dear Ms. Pride: Thank you for your telephone call this morning regarding the recent Amendment to AfriSpace, Inc.‘s ("AfriSpace") pending application. As we discussed during the call, AfriSpace did not file Schedule B to FCC Form 312 since this Schedule is to be used only when filing for earth stations. (See FCC Form 312, Instructions for Completion of FCC Form 312 Application for Satellite Space and Earth Station Authorizations, Feb. 1998, at 5). As indicated in the Amendment, AfriSpace will have no earth stations located in the United States because of the orbital location of its satellite. Rather, AfriSpace will control its off—shore earth stations via dedicated facilities. (See Amendment, at 26). Therefore, AfriSpace is not required to file Schedule B to FCC Form 312.
