Dear Mr. Albuquerque:

DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) hereby gives notice that it has successfully
de-orbited its DIRECTV 1R space station, which has operated most recently at the 55.8° E.L.
orbital location. The de-orbiting was completed on May 22, 2014. The final measured orbit of
the DIRECTV 1R satellite has an apogee and perigee of 390 km and 355 km above
geosynchronous orbit, respectively. In the course of de-orbiting the satellite, DIRECTV depleted
the propellant tanks to levels consistent with the terms of its authorization, 1 discharged the
batteries, disconnected the power from the bus, and shut off all payloads and payload heaters.
