Attachment to Grant DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC Call Sign $2711 IBFS File No. SAT—MOD—20111128—00230 IBFS File No. SAT—AMD—20120314—00040 The Satellite Division grants modification of the 17/24 GHz Broadcasting—Satellite Service authorization of DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC for the DIRECTV RB—1 space station at the 99.235° W.L. orbital location, in light of information filed by DIRECTV to demonstrate compliance with the technical rules and information requirements adopted in FCC 11—93, 26 FCC Red 8927 (2011). In addition, DIRECTV is granted waiver of Section 25.264(a)(4) of the Commission‘s rules. Because antenna gain is a frequency dependent parameter, our rule requires predictions at a minimum of three sufficiently separated frequencies to adequately characterize the transmitting antenna off—axis gain performance. The frequencies used by DIRECTV for its predictions are 18 MHz higher (at the low end of the range) or lower (at the high end of the range) than those specified in Section 25.264(a)(4). Nevertheless, the predicted data submitted by DIRECTV accomplishes the objective of the rule, as DIRECTV submitted measurements made at the center frequency of the of the center transponder and just above and just below the center of the lowest and highest frequency transponder, respectively.
