                  SUPPLEMENT TO APPLICATION
FOR AUTHORITY TO LAUNCH AND OPERATE INTELSAT 27, A
REPLACEMENT SATELLITE WITH NEW FREQUENCIES, AT 304.5º E.L.

Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”), pursuant to Section 1.65 of the Federal

Communications Commission’s (“FCC” or “Commission”) rules,1 hereby supplements

its pending application to launch and operate a replacement satellite, to be known as

Intelsat 27, at the 304.5º E.L. orbital location.2 That pending application noted that the

Intelsat 27 satellite will carry a UHF payload that will operate in non-commercial

frequencies.3 In an amendment filed on November 11, 2011, Intelsat notified the FCC

that Intelsat was no longer seeking U.S. authority to operate the UHF payload on Intelsat

27 and that it planned to seek such authority from another Administration.4

By this supplement, Intelsat further notifies the Commission that Italy will be the

licensing Administration for the Intelsat 27 UHF payload. Intelsat has been informed that

the Italian Administration has filed the Advance Publication Information with the

International Telecommunication Union for the Intelsat 27 UHF payload. Intelsat

expects that the Italian Administration shortly will communicate to the FCC the Italian

Administration’s understanding regarding the dual-licensing status of Intelsat 27. Intelsat

and Italy will ensure that transmissions to/from the Intelsat 27 UHF payload are fully

coordinated with the U.S.’s higher priority filing.

Intelsat further informs the Commission that the launch of Intelsat 27 currently is

scheduled to occur as early as January 15, 2013. Accordingly, Intelsat respectfully

requests expeditious treatment of the pending application.
