' SaskTel was granted a Section 2 SpeCIaII Temporary Authorlty on June 5°", 2006 by your division with an exp date of December 2"", 2006. This STA issuing to SaskTel was necessit —d by the acquisition by SaskTel of the international facilities—based and esale operation business of Navigata Communications Ltd., an affiliate of LaskTel. l note that the application of Navigata Communications Ltd. for a Section 214 International License filed in February of 2005 and subsequently assigned to SaskTel, remains pending for determination with the Commission. Since the grant of the STA noted to my client in June of this year, SaskTel has continued to carry on in the ordinary course the former international facilities—based and . resale operation business it acquired from Navigata Communications Ltd. / SaskTel will continue to carry on thatbusiness for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, my client requests that an extension of the above noted STA be granted by the Commission. My client is in the process and should shortly complete filing of the reports necessary to comply with the dominant carrier safeguards in 47 CFR 63.10(c)(2), (c)(3), (c)(4) and (e).
