Movida Communications, Inc. ("Movida" or "Applicant"), pursuant to Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended ("the Act"), 47 U.S.C. 214, hereby requests global authority to operate as a resale carrier pursuant to the terms and conditions of Section 63.18 (e)(2) of the Commission's Rules to all foreign points as authorized by the Commission. 47 C.F.R. 63.18 (e)(2). Movida has no affiliation with any foreign carrier in any of the destination countries for which authority is requested nor is Movida affiliated with any dominant U.S. carrier whose services Movida may resell. Movida does not seek to provide international telecommunications service to any destination where: (1) Movida is a foreign carrier in that country; (2) Movida controls a foreign carrier in that country; (3) any entity that owns more than a 25% interest in Movida, or controls Movida, controls a foreign carrier in that country; or (4) two or more parties own, in the aggregate, more than 25% of Movida and are parties to, or the beneficiaries of, a contractual relationship that affects the provision or marketing of international basic telecommunications services in the United States. This Application is entitled to streamlined processing under Section 63.12 of the Commission's Rules. 47 C.F.R. 63.12. Movida Communications, Inc. is a Delaware corporation, majority-owned by Movida Investments LLC, a Florida limited liability company. The address of Movida Investments LLC is 550 Biltmore Way, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. Anthony V. Montoya, Joseph M. Gensheimer and Jonathan M. Chambers are also shareholders in Movida Communications, Inc., but none of the individuals own greater than 10%. Messrs. Montoya, Gensheimer and Chambers are all U.S. citizens. Movida Investments LLC (Florida LLC) is 100% owned by Venevision International Corporation (a Delaware corporation) which is 100% owned by Venevision Investments LLC (a Delaware LLC). A trust principally for the benefit of the family of Gustavo Cisneros and a trust principally for the benefit of the family of Ricardo Cisneros, or foundations or entities established primarily for the benefit of any one or more of the foregoing persons each owns a 50% indirect beneficial ownership interest in the equity of Venevision, which owns these shares. These trusts have shared voting and dispositive powers over these shares, Gustavo Cisneros and Ricardo Cisneros disclaim beneficial ownership of such shares. Gustavo Cisneros, Ricardo Cisneros and their families are Venezuelan. The address of Venevision Investments LLC is 550 Biltmore Way, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. Movida respectfully requests that the Commission grant it authority to provide international telecommunications services on a resale basis pursuant to Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended.
