Fasttone is a U.S. business corporation currently providing domestic long distance telecommunications service and now desires to expand its operations to include the provision of international telecommunications services. Fasttone is currently obtaining the certifications necessary to serve residential and business customers on an intrastate basis in numerous states. By granting this application, the Commission will serve the publicinterest, convenience and necessity by promoting competition in the international services market. Competition will benefit U.S. consumers by increasing service options and lowering prices. Thus, the public interest will be serviced by the grant of Section 214 authority to Fasttone .
