The above mentioned paging centers are now serving more than 1.8 million paging subscribers including operator—assisted, secretarial and automatic paging subscribers. In 1994, CMTI was granted the Public Radio—communication License in Hong Kong and started to provide paging service to Hong Kong consumers. CMTI aims to develop the conventional paging business into one offering integrated messaging services. At present, CMTI has grasped around one third of the local paging market _ share.
