Dortch Federal Communications Commission 445 l2th St. SW, Room TW-B204 Washington, DC 20554 Re: Withdrawal of U.S. Department of Homeland Security from the 16 May 2007 Commitment Letter and the 12 January 2005 Letter of Assurance Dear Ms. Dortch: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”), with the concurrence of the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”), hereby notifies the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) of DHS’ intention to withdraw from January 12, 2005 Letter of Assurance (“LOA”) and the May 16, 2007 Commitment Letter proffered by British Telecommunications plc (BT) to DHS, DOJ, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in connection with file numbers ITC-T/C-20041119-00460 and ITC-T/C-20070425-00162. This has no effect on the validity of the LOA, and the assurances made therein, with respect to BT and DOJ/FBI.
