The performance of a vane-type actuator or fluid motor is greatly enhanced by coating the inner surfaces of the piston chamber with Teflon-S, a material which endows the chamber surfaces with a fluorocarbon-rich surface stratum which is highly wear-resistant, nearly frictionless of nature, and self-renewing in the presence of wear, scoring or scuffing.
