Room TW-A325 Washington, DC 20554 Re: NOTICE OF CONSUMMATION File No. SCL-T/C-20130729-00006 - In the Matter of the Application of Brasil Telecom of America, Inc., for the Transfer of Control of Authorized U.S. Submarine Cable Landing Licensee Dear Ms. Dortch: Brasil Telecom of America, Inc. (“GlobeNet”) through its undersigned counsel, hereby notifies the Commission that the transfer of control transaction described in the Application filed in the above-referenced proceeding was completed on December 20, 2013. GlobeNet also notifies the Commission that given that the necessary approvals by the applicable Venezuelan agencies have not been obtained to date, Oi S.A. will temporarily maintain control of GlobeNet’s affiliate in Venezuela and will transfer the entity to a subsidiary of Brasil Telecom Subsea Cable Systems (Bermuda) Ltd. as soon as such approvals are obtained. However, the GlobeNet Cable System will continue to be operated in the same manner as it has been done to date. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
