Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Xwing is developing autonomous flight technology enabling seamless integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System (NAS). This program will also test an experimental detect and avoid (DAA) system developed by Xwing. This research and development program serves the public interest by testing a Command and Control (C2) and DAA Sensor datalink developed by Microhard Systems Inc. This research will contribute to mature standards for C2 & DAA for UAS. This program is one step towards the future FAA Type Certification of a fully autonomous Xwing UAS.
