Please explain the purpose of operation:
Xwing is developing autonomous flight technology enabling seamless integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System (NAS). This research and development program serves the public interest by testing a Command Non-Payload Communication (CNPC) Command and Control (C2) radio prototype developed by Collins Aircraft. This research will contribute to mature standards for CNPC for UAS. This program will also test an experimental detect and avoid (DAA) system developed by Xwing. This program is one step towards the future FAA Type Certification of a fully autonomous Xwing UAS. The use of the CNPC-5000 operating in the 5.04GHz band has been coordinated with the FAA Spectrum Engineering Services. FAA Coordination Numbers NG T200865 & NG T200866
