Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An STA is required because the requested operations involve the use of multiple frequency bands and emission bandwidths that are not authorized under existing FCC equipment certifications or standard Part 15 unlicensed rules. The Doodle Labs Helix Mesh Rider system utilizes a configurable OFDM-based MANET waveform with selectable bandwidths (5, 10, and 20 MHz) across frequency bands between 1780 MHz and 2360 MHz, including spectrum allocated for federal use. The planned operations include airborne use in support of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) mission testing, which cannot be conducted under standard licensed or unlicensed frameworks. Therefore, temporary authorization is required to permit controlled, short-duration operations for mission-specific testing and evaluation.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of this operation is to support testing and evaluation of a Doodle Labs Helix Mesh Rider MANET-based communications system for unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) applications. The system will provide command, control, and high-throughput data link connectivity, including video and telemetry, in support of UAV-based airfield damage assessment and UGV-based munitions clearing operations. Testing will evaluate system performance, reliability, and interoperability in realistic operational environments, including mobile and airborne conditions up to 400 feet AGL within the Summit Point Training Facility defined test area. All operations will be conducted on a non-interference basis and in coordination with appropriate spectrum authorities.
