Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
To evaluate of the suitability of DSRC technology. The objective of this testing is to continue evaluation of the suitability of DSRC technology for grade crossing protection through characterization of DSRC performance as well as the RF propagation environment at actual railroad grade crossings. Both DSRC on-board units, RF propagation and EMI measurement systems will be installed on a train engine; DSRC road-side units and an RF channel sounder will be temporarily installed at various wayside locations along the track.
