ViaSat desires to increase the scope of the experimental program to include ground mobile and maritime testing in addition the the previously authorized aeronautical mobile testing. Initial testing of the previously identified antenna systems has gone very well and testing of emerging low profile lens and array antenna systems is now desired. These antenna systems are larger in effective area than the smallest of previously authorized antennas and the beamwidth is therefore reduced and the risk of interference to other satellite systems would be less. Lastly, some of our potential government customers desire on-site demonstration of our complete system including uplink. The only currently identified demo location is Ft. Gordon, GA. but authorization to uplink our hub signal from any CONUS is desirable. The minimum size for the hub uplink antenna would be 2.4 m with 4.5 m being the typical hub antenna size. The bandwidth and ERP for the hub uplink remain unchanged.
