Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
We would like to do full power bench and field testing of our VHF ice penetrating radar system. The radar system has fairly high peak power (low duty cycle) and will emit radiation.
Special Temporary Authority application - Information
Callsign:
WM9XOW
Class of Station:
MO
Nature of Service:
Experimental
Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The ice penetrating radar system has been successfully flown for airborne geophysical survey in Antarctica, Canada and Greenland. We need to do some full power (unattenuated) testing for EMI. The radar will be driven near full power through antennas to conduct experiments to evaluate various paths for radiated and conducted interference within components of the instrument suite.
