Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the Plugfest is experimental testing to determine DSRC device readiness and ability to meet OmniAir certification compliance requirements. Testing will consist of conducted protocol conformance (to elements of IEEE 802.11, IEEE 1609.2, IEEE 1609.3, IEEE 1609.4, SAE J2735 and SAE J2945) and over the air performance testing of 5.9 GHz DSRC Connected Vehicle devices such as On-Board Equipment (OBE) for vehicles and Road Side Units (RSU) for infrastructure. The testing suites and test cases were developed under cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS JPO office.
