Please explain the purpose of operation:
The Aurora Flight Sciences “TALOS” Team is funded by the Office of Naval Research under the AACUS (Autonomous Naval Cargo Utility System) program to develop a platform agnostic sensor suite and software package to demonstrate autonomous approaches and landing for unprepared landing sites using the Boeing Unmanned Little Bird platform. The Office of Naval Research is sponsoring the demonstrations flights, which will require the use of Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL). Specifically, the use of Ku- Band, L-3 COM TCDL 14.40 – 14.83 GHz (Transmit) and 15.5 – 15.35 GHz (Receive). ONR recognizes the TALOS team’s need of TDCL and recommend it’s authorization for use in said demonstrations.
