Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The Ku-band radar will be positioned in an elevated test house at the Kent Space Center and used for phenomenological collections. The radar system represents a combination of phased array antennas originally developed for communications applications and which are presently licensed under call sign WE2XSM (file number 0181-EX-ML-2013). The system is designed such that operating frequency, beam direction, and power level can be coordinated/adjusted to avoid other in-band systems, and the system computer will disable the transmit beam if it is within 2 degrees of any preprogrammed interference angle.
