Boeing is contracted to the Australian Air Force to develop a airborn Radar platform using a converted 737 airframe. Due to contractual obligations the Boeing Company is required to test and calibrate equipment prior to being turned over to the customer.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Calibration Testing. Calibration of receiving equipment is required per contract terms. This test is required to be performed in a RF quiet location most likely performed at night to further reduce ambient RF noise. The test cosists of the transmitter located at Pacific beach and the aircraft orbiting within Olympic A MOA or the transmitter located at Quillayute Airfield and the aircraft orbiting within Olympic B MOA. Authorization is also required for ground test at Boeing Field in the event an anomaly is encounter during the airborn tests. The specific frequencies requested will be swept from low to high with a transmit duration of 35ms per frequency with a dwell time of 15ms between frequencies.
