The Boeing Company ("Boeing"), pursuant to Section 5.61 of the Commission?s rules, 47 C.F.R. ยง 5.61, hereby seeks experimental special temporary authority to operate eight (8) EMS Satcom ("EMS") transceivers, model number HSD-440, seven (7) of which are on board Boeing executive aircraft and one (1) of which operates from Boeing?s flight facilities in Gary, Indiana (41-37-24N, 87-25-03W, NAD83 AMSL 184).

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Operation of eight (8) EMS HSD-440 transceivers for a period of up to six months while EMS secures FCC certification. Boeing requests authority to continue to operate its eight (8) EMS HSD-440 transceivers for a period of up to six months while EMS secures FCC certification. Boeing also requests expeditious processing of this application in order to enable the continued operations of Boeing?s aircraft fleet on a FANS certified basis.
