Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An application for a permanent experimental Ku-Band All Sats license has been applied for by UTHSC. This application is expected to be approved in December of 2003. A new Ku-Band hub facility has recently been completed at this facility and we wish to test that equipment, in conjunction with the US Navy, on November 20-21, 2003. This operation is being closely coordinated with the satellite operator, PanAmSat Corporation. The operation will test a new Andrew 3.7 meter commercial Ku-Band hub with an existing facility in Washington, DC located at the Naval Research Laboratory. The system will operate in the commercial Ku-Band, transmitting at 14.00 GHz to 14.500 GHz and receiving at 11.700 GHz to 12.200 GHz. This activity is being closely coordinated with the satellite space segment provider, PanAmSat corporation.
