Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
- Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
- Requesting permission to conduct outdoor antenna testing on new HF antennas. The signal generators are lab grade signal generators that have 0.010 HZ bandwidth signal and it is only transmitted for 30mili seconds or less per frequency as the signal generator sweeps from 1MHZ to 500MHZ. Likely 101 frequencies would be required in the requested band evenly spaced if possible though a frequency list can be created to force the measurements to specific frequencies but it increases the cost of system programming. The testing only requires 45 individual days of testing across the 18 month period specified. most likely 5 days each in the 1st and 4th QTYs of 2017 and set up and calibration testing in the fall of 2016 consuming about 10 days and the remainder held in reserve. Testing would be approximately 8 hours for a given day.
