Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The Arkyd 3 (A3) spacecraft is an experimental nanosatellite to be launched in October 2014, then deployed from the International Space Station (ISS). The A3 spacecraft is an orbiting testbed for internally-developed spacecraft hardware and software components that also provides a relevant platform for spaceflight operations development. PRDC requests a Special Temporary Authority to perform short term on-orbit evaluation of the nanosatellite upon its deployment from the ISS.
