Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant has developed hardware to demonstrate potential applications using unoccupied UHF spectrum in the 512-698 MHz band, corresponding to television channels 21-51 (the TV white spaces). A portion of Applicants demonstration involves a brief, low-power transmission of an OFDM signal in an unoccupied 6 MHz channel in this band. All demonstrated transmissions will be less than 10 minutes at a time, at a power not to exceed 50 mW, and will take place indoors. All transmissions will take place outside the protected service contour of incumbent operations. The demonstrations will be part of the IEEE DYSPAN conference to be held in Chicago from October 14-17, 2008.
