An STA is necessary in order to conduct experimental propagation measurements at millimeter-wave frequencies as part of research at the NYU Tandon school of engineering and funded by NSF grants. Specifically, approval is need to conduct experiments at the 28, 38, 60, 73 and 83 GHz bands over large bandwidths of at least 1 GHz and up to 5 GHz.

The purpose of the operation is to conduct experimental propagation measurements at millimeter-wave frequencies as part of research at the NYU Tandon school of engineering and funded by NSF grants. We like to perform experiments at the 28, 38, 60, 73 and 83 GHz bands over large bandwidths of at least 1 GHz and up to 5 GHz. The experiments will be useful for 5G wireless academic research projects in order to contribute results and analysis to the academic and scientific communities.
