Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Nosh requests a six-month STA to test up to 650 connected cooking appliances in real homes while completing equipment authorization. Wireless connectivity supports setup, recipe delivery, telemetry, diagnostics and software updates. These functions must be tested across different networks, building types and installation conditions. Cooking performance also varies with ingredients, cuisine, dietary needs, preferences and ambient conditions. The trial therefore targets: 5 residential and network environments × 5 cooking profiles × 20 households = 500 complete datasets. Nosh requests 150 additional units to account for withdrawals, insufficient usage and installation or connectivity failures. Deployment will occur in three phases of 150, 250 and 250 units, with each phase subject to reliability and safety review. Nosh will retain ownership, track every unit and retrieve or disable all devices when the trial ends.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of operation is to conduct a controlled market trial of up to 650 Nosh connected cooking appliances in real homes. The trial will evaluate wireless reliability during device setup, recipe delivery, telemetry, remote diagnostics and software updates across different networks and residential environments. It will also test the complete product across varied ingredients, cuisines, dietary needs, cooking preferences and ambient conditions. The goal is to identify connectivity issues, product failure modes and usage patterns before full commercial deployment. Devices will be deployed in three phases of 150, 250 and 250 units. Results from each phase will be reviewed before proceeding to the next.
