Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Additional authority to that granted under FCC File No. 0235-EX-ST-2017 (WK9XYI) is sought to test the very broad band performance of a Northrop Grumman designed experimental Active Electronically Scanned Antenna (AESA). The additional authority requested herein is to conduct flight tests in off-shore warning area W108, the geographic coordinates of which are contained in the attached exhibit. Maximum altitude will be 28,000 feet MSL. Power and gain are the same as those authorized by WK9XYI. The requested frequency is for a single channel of 15 KHz bandwidth in the Victor radio frequency range, between 138 MHz and 144 MHz. Any one channel within this band is sufficient. The antenna is directional - emissions can be limited in any azimuth. See attached Exhibit.
