Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This radio system is located entirely on a new Platform which is being built in a shipyard (Kiewit Offshore Services) in Ingleside, Texas. The equipment must be turned on for a few days to complete the installation and commissioning. The equipment will be verified for proper operation, witnessed by the customer and then turned off.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
First the antenna cables and antennas will be verified by using an Anritsu Site Master spectrum analyzer and cable / antenna tester. Next the system - one repeater / controller, 3 base stations and several portable radios will be turned on for the testing. RF power will be measured and recorded. Voice communications will be conducted between base stations and portable radios. All communication will be limited to the platform structure. Once proper operation has been verified, the equipment will be de-energized. Final destination of the Platform will be offshore Spain.
