Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
We are performing a one-day experimental test of a new vertical monopole. Our test is scheduled to take place on 9 August 2016. We do not have an existing frequency authorization for the equipment we need to test. This is a short notice one-time event.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
We have a research project that involves the design of transmit antenna arrays for high frequency surface wave radar. Part of the design project involves the design of the antenna element that will be a part of the array. The purpose of the test that we will be performing on 9 August 2016 with the STA is to understand and characterize the performance of a new vertical monopole antenna that we have designed. We plan to radiated 1kW ERP using a 50kHz frequency modulated continuous wave waveform. We will operate as a secondary user and require permission to transmit in the 5-30MHz band.
