Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
MLR is a company that makes Mobile Lighting Rigs for all type of natural turf venues. We started of in the early 2000s and delivered lighting rigs for the european soccer market. After this we have progressed to Tennis, Rugby and lately, golf. Please have a look at our website for additional info: www.mlrsports.com Our company has recently finished engineering a unique grow lighting rig for European golf market. We have also made a version for the US market that we would like to showcase at some exhibitions and trail on some golf courses in the US. We have been adviced by UL international to apply for an STA as this will make the process to get the rigs in the US faster than doing a EMC test at a lab in Europe. We are currently waiting in line to get a EMC/FCC test done, but the process is taking a lot of time and we have clients that are eager to try out the product. We have never done tests on American soil and gras species therefore we are very eager to get test results from various golf courses to see if our product can work in these different climates and conditions. On the US version of the rig we have made sure all components are CE and UL certified as well as the special light fixtures that has been ordered from Canada have been certified and marked with CSA US labels. Getting to try these products on the US market is essential as some of the most prestigious golf courses in the world, perhaps the most prestigious one of all, Augusta. They have agreed to trail our rig during the winter and therefore we are very eager to get the rigs shipped to the States as fast as possible.
