Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Lockheed Martin Corporation seeks experimental STA to conduct temporary testing and demonstration operations at Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). The YPG Range Manager has already consented to the operations, but requires FCC authorization for Lockheed Martin to commence operations. Lockheed Martin respectfully requests expedited treatment of this request, as the equipment and DARPA personnel are in position to commence and prior requirement of an FCC STA was not known. As required, Lockheed Martin has sought prior coordination with AFTRCC of the L- and S-band telemetry frequencies proposed for use.
