Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
GPS re-rad capability is needed in the DTS garage in order to support the ATACMS program. The DTS facility is used to test the ATACMS launcher. The GPS re-rad system provides GPS signals to the launcher for self location, this location information is then down load to the weapon prior to a mission. GPS re-rad capability is also needed in the MIF garage and MCTEL lab to test the GMLRS launcher. The GPS re-rad system for the MIF lab provides GPS signals to the launcher for self location, this location information is then down load to the weapon prior to a mission. The GPS re-rad system for the MCTEL lab provides GPS signals to a launcher simulator in the lab for self location, this location information is then down load to weapon simulators for as a part of software testing and system checkout. GPS re-rad capability is needed in the M3 garage in order to support the GMLRS program. This facility is used to test the GMLRS rocket as a part of the production process. The GPS re-rad system re-radiates the GPS signal into the production lab room so that the GPS receiver on the GMLRS missile can be tested as a part of the final production test of the missile assembly, prior to loading into the missile pod.
