Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Lockheed Martin Corporation herein seeks extension of its Special Temporary Authority (File No. 1305-EX-ST-2016) to permit operations at variance from a permanent experimental license (Call Sign WE2XVK). Special Condition 3 applied to the initial STA grant specified that Lockheed Martin must operate in the 906.5 MHz to 923.5 MHz range. Accordingly, we respectfully request a 30-day extension of the license term, until November 24, 2016, to facilitate the recalibration of equipment in order to operate on a frequency above 906.5 MHz as NTIA specified. Please note that the testing at each of the two locations is intended to be no more than 12 minute transmissions, once per hour, during a three hour period over a period of two days.
