Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
To demonstrate a 3G cellular-like voice and data services. Lockheed Martin will test and demonstrate, to the U.S. Air Force, a 3G cellular-like voice and data service that will be provided by a tactical airborne radio base station and modified Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) mobile ground terminals. This technology has strong potential for future applications to tactical military communications.
