Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
To test advanced Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular communications equipment. With the license requested herein, LGS intends to evaluate its equipment performance in realistic transmission conditions through drive testing in and around the proposed test site at various power levels. Based upon field measurements, a number of available absolute radio-frequency channel numbers have been identified that would allow for testing without interference in commercial traffic in the area. The specific frequencies, power levels, and antenna types and locations within the tests will change on a day-to-day basis depending on the specific hardware/software feature under test. Industry standards compliant GSM protocols will be used during the operational testing.
