Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:

Simultaneous transmit and receive operations are becoming more typical of requirements for avionic communications equipment. This experimental license is to provide the means to demonstrate, in actual on-the-air simulation, a typical aircraft pilot/co-pilot operating scenario. A voice modulated transmitter will emit a typical test count while a receiver tuned several channels away is listening for interference.
