Lively Home was designed to allow the elderly to continue living independently for longer by facilitating care from family members. The system uses sensor technology to learn about the way a person lives?how often they spend time in the kitchen, take their medication, or get out of the house. When a pattern shifts, Lively notices?and updates the network of people who want to know. Simple to use, easy to install, and with nothing to wear, it stays out the way, allowing someone goes about their day while allowing family or friends to monitor their wellbeing. This STA is being sought in order to allow a developmental usability study of the system. This study is intended to verify the customer response to the system before final commitment of the design to manufacturing and marketing.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Lively uses sensor technology to learn about the way a person lives?how often they spend time in the kitchen, take their medication, or get out of the house. When a pattern shifts, Lively notices?and updates the network of people who want to know. The Lively Home system is comprised of a master unit, or hub, which receives data from a variety of sensors. The hub has the ability to connect to the cellular network and provide updates to family members through a web application. The purpose of usability study is to evaluate the design with a selected group of users before the design is committed to volume manufacturing and introduced to the market. However, the units to be used in the study are representative of the final manufactured units, unless there are design changes as a result of this study. The Lively Home system will be placed in approximately 30 homes in Florida for use by the residents. The system will be in operation no longer than 60 days. During the study the user response to the system and the system operation will be evaluated as part of the final design verification process.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Developmental usability study of a new product intended to verify the customer response to the system before final commitment of the design to manufacturing and marketing. The Lively Home system will be placed in approximately 30 homes in Florida for use by the residents. The system will be in operation no longer than 60 days. During the study the user response to the system and the system operation will be evaluated as part of the final design verification process. At the end of the study Hamlet will retrieve the units as part of the conclusion of the study. The system has two wireless interfaces. The first is a cellular modem, which has its own FCC equipment grant and operates under Parts 22H and 24E. The second interface is a Bluetooth link operating under Part 15.247.
