Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Gilat North America would like to test and demonstrate the functionality of its authorized SR-71 Ku-band mobile satellite terminal. GNA wishes to test at two locations, Fort Hunt, MD and Blackstone, VA, these two sites will use Intelsat satellite IS-29e at 50° West longitude. This testing would use the same SR-71 antenna previously authorized by the Commission, File Number 0133-EX-PL-2015, using the same configuration and technical specifications, but on a new static platform and different satellite. Specifically, GNA seeks experimental authority to test the SR-71 terminal for use to demonstrate the SR-71 in static test table environment. The requirement for the scope of these proposed tests is to begin on April 20, 2016 and operate through to June 1, 2016.
