Please explain the purpose of operation:
General Dynamics and the United States Coast Guard Research and Development Center propose the deployment of a pilot LTE broadband network at USCG station Key West for the purpose of allowing the USCG R&D/General Dynamics team to investigate application of broadband wireless technologies to USCG maritime and ashore operations. This pilot will help to inform USCG as to how to best deploy these technologies in the future in order to gain the best benefit for the investment. At the same time, General Dynamics can leverage experience gained during this pilot to adapt the GD LTE technology roadmap so as to best support the USCG, Public Safety and the DoD maritime community.
