Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The STA will enable Fortem Technologies to test its low weight, low power prototype radar in order to refine its design prior to requesting further licensing. This is necessary to support work we are currently doing for an AFRL contract on counter-drone technology, work with NASA on drone detect and avoid, and additional work on drones we are proposing to the US DoD (Air Force and Army).

The current application covers initial testing from the ground. Subsequent applications will be added for on wing testing. This testing will be directed by the engineering team which joined Fortem Technologies when the technology was purchased from IMSAR in My; the team has managed STA and Experimental Licenses in the past.
